How Do I Submit My Certificate to the Court?
After completing the course and receiving your certificate by email, contact the court handling your case and ask how they want to receive it. Submission methods vary by court.
Step-by-Step: How to Submit Your Certificate
Step 1 — Receive your certificate
Divorce Parenting Class emails your certificate immediately after you pass the final exam. Download and save the PDF from that email.
Step 2 — Contact your court
Contact the clerk's office at the court handling your dissolution of marriage or paternity case. Ask them:
What is their preferred submission method (mail, fax, email, or in person)?
What is the deadline for submitting the certificate?
Is there a specific case number or reference they need on the submission? Step 3 — Submit by your court's deadline
Submit the certificate using your court's preferred method before your deadline. For petitioners this is 45 days from the date of filing. For respondents this is 45 days from the date of service.
Step 4 — Confirm receipt
Follow up with the court to confirm they received and processed your certificate. Ask for a confirmation or case notation if possible.
Important Reminders
Divorce Parenting Class does not submit your certificate on your behalf — you must do this yourself.
Each parent must submit their own certificate individually.
Make sure the name on your certificate matches the name in your court case exactly. If there is a discrepancy, contact us before submitting.
