What Does the Florida Parent Education and Family Stabilization Course Cover?
The Florida Parent Education and Family Stabilization Course covers 8 modules of content approved by the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF). The course is designed to educate parents on how to support their children through the divorce process and navigate co-parenting effectively.

Divorce as a Loss — the emotional, physical, and social transitions of divorce for both parents and children
Permanency of Parental Role / Shared Parenting — shared parental responsibility and how Florida courts approach it
Developmental Stages of Childhood — how children of different ages react to and understand divorce
Communicating with Children in a Divorce Situation — how to talk with your children throughout the divorce process
Communicating with the Other Parent — how to communicate effectively with the other party
Abuse — domestic violence, spousal abuse, child abuse and neglect, and penalties for false reporting
Legal Concepts — Florida statutory definitions, court issues involving minor children, and financial responsibilities
Parenting Time — the benefits of both parents, developing a parenting plan, and effective communication between parents
Chapter Reviews
Each module ends with an ungraded 10-question chapter review. These reviews are for your own learning — they do not have a passing score requirement and do not affect your ability to advance through the course. You can complete them at your own pace without any penalty for wrong answers.
Final Exam
After completing all 8 modules, you take a 40-question final exam. You must score 70% or higher to pass. The exam is open book and you may retake it as many times as needed.
